School office hours are 8:00-4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
Parents are encouraged to call the administration or schedule an
appointment to discuss your ideas, suggestions, or concerns. Messages
may be left on voice-mail before or after school hours.

Primary Schools are committed to the concept that excellence
in education is a lifelong journey, not a destination. Our
aim is to provide a positive, safe environment for students
to develop as learners and as members of a diverse
community. In a setting where each person is valued and
respected, students are involved activly in meaningful
learning experiences to foster the development of
problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, and
cooperative-group work while keeping current with an ever
changing technology. While the adopted board curriculum is
the basis for instruction, students' needs influence our
teaching and learning experiences. The Primary staff is committed
to the belief that our mission can be accomplished if the
highest expectations are held for all students' academic
achievements and behaviors. Parents are viewed as partners.
Home and school communications are valued and encouraged. If
you have a question or concern, please contact me at any of
our three schools. Welcome to the Primary Division Web! The division
consists of three buildings: Elm, Hilltop, and Vermont
Schools. The buildings house all-day kindergarten, 1/2 day
kindergarten, and grades one through four. The student body
consists of approximately 650 students with 50 dynamic staff
members to encourage pride for quality work and a desire for
ongoing learning. As a division, we also strive to foster
self-respect and integrity, valuing of diversity and
responsible citizenship. Our parents are very involved with their children and
the Parent School Association (PSA) sponsored activities.
They have demonstrated their support by participating in
fundraisers, academic activities during and after school,
and by volunteering their time both in and out of the
classroom. I look forward to meeting our new families and working
with the parents of our students.
